Dear Valued Customer,
We are writing to inform you of an important upcoming change to your Linux shared hosting environment. As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping your website secure, fast, and running smoothly, we will be removing several outdated software versions from our servers.
📆Action date & Impact: On Thursday ,27 Aug 2026 at 11:00 PM (Local Time) you service will be completely down for 12 Hours .
What is changing?
We are removing older, unsupported PHP versions and retaining only the versions that are actively maintained and secure. PHP is the core technology that powers your website — keeping it up to date protects you from security threats and keeps your site compatible with modern tools and plugins.
If your website is currently running on one of the versions listed below, you may experience continued service disruption or website errors after the implementation date.
Why are we doing this?
The versions being removed are no longer supported by their developers, which means they no longer receive security fixes. Keeping them active on our servers creates risks for all customers — including exposure to hacking attempts, spam abuse, and the possibility of your website's IP address being blacklisted, which can affect your emails being delivered.
Out of Support Versions:
- PHP 5.6
- PHP 7.0
- PHP 7.1
- PHP 7.2
- PHP 7.3
- PHP 7.4
- PHP 8.0
- PHP 8.1
- PHP 8.2
What do you need to do?
If your website is running on one of the versions being removed, please follow these simple steps before 27 Aug 2026 or refeer to your development team to take action .
- Log in to your cPanel — access your hosting control panel as usual.
- Go to "MultiPHP Manager" — found under the Software section in cPanel.
- Tick on the domain name to select it
- Select a supported version — above PHP 8.2 for the best balance of compatibility and security.
- Test your website — browse your site to make sure everything is working as expected.
If you have already updated your PHP version or your website does not use any of the versions being removed, no action is needed on your part.
Thank you for being a valued customer. We are committed to keeping your website safe and online.
Regards,
Link Datacenter Team
