Dear Valued Customer,
We want to keep you informed about an important industry-wide change that affects all SSL/TLS certificates.
🔐 What's Changing?
Effective March 15, 2026, the CA/Browser Forum (the governing body for web security standards) has reduced the maximum validity period of publicly trusted SSL/TLS certificates from 398 days to 200 days. This change applies to all Certificate Authorities worldwide and is not specific to any one provider.
This is part of a phased schedule:
• Now (2026): Maximum 200 days
• 2027: Maximum 100 days
• 2029: Maximum 47 days
📋 What This Means for You
Your existing certificates remain valid until their current expiration date — no immediate action is needed for active certificates that was purchased before Mar 2026.
However, going forward:
• New certificates will be issued for a maximum of 200 days "Purchasing Date Starting Mar 2026
• You will need to renew and reinstall your certificate more frequently
• Domain validation records will also need to be refreshed every 199 days
Importantly, this does NOT mean additional costs for certificates themselves — reissuance is free. It does mean renewals will happen more often.
